Mission Statement

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Mounted Search and Rescue’s (Posse) primary mission is to establishment a well trained, fully equipped mounted search and rescue unit, capable of serving the Sheriff of Shasta County, thus the public, as a qualified resource that assist in locating lost or missing persons in the Shasta County’s large outdoors area, in a timely manner without endangering the searchers or causing further hazards to the lost person.
