"They gave so others could live."
Shelby (Shelby's Mountain Ridge Von Shasta)
Rudy (Rudolf Weehawken Vom Shasta)
Lynnzie (Lynnzie Von Shasta)
"Lynzzie and I worked together in SAR from Oct 1995 to Sept 2002. She was an awesome first partner and did everything I would ask her to do. She was hard headed and it made it that much sweeter when we would achieve our goals in obedience, CGC, SAR, tracking, etc. She was a good sport trying flyball, agility, herding, dock dogs, and was my first Prescription Pets therapy dog. She earned my first TDX title and it had not been done in the area for 25-30 years! We had a terrific friendship together and she excelled in many arenas. She was the matriarch and is still missed today. Love you and see you soon Lyn," --Candi (Mom)
Ozzie (Ozwald Vom Shasta)
"Thank you for 7 years (1988 to 1995) of loyal and dedicated service to the citizens of Shasta County, the Deputies of the Shasta County Sheriff's Department and Detectives of the Shasta Inter-Agency Narcotic Task Force. Ozzie was Tom's patrol protection bite dog. He was used on some SAR searches however; saved an Alzheimer's man who would surely have died of hypothermia who was under a car and Ozzie drug him out by his pants without biting him, to name one. Tom and Ozzie were requested by other counties; he was stabbed 9 times by a bad guy to come back to work 10 days later without going on leave or disability or stress disability!!! -- ; he had over 145 finds of which 85 were "deputy assist and holds." Ozzie made sure Tom came home safe to me every night. I will be forever grateful, O." --Candi (Mom)
Side note: We bred Ozzie once. Everyone in town seemed to write they had "Ozzie puppies" to sell for years, but he was only bred once. We had pick of the litter and got my first SAR partner, Lynzzie. I bred her once and got Rudy, our cadaver dog. We had a few people make promises to do SAR or other work but Rudy was the only one that was worked from the litter. We almost did not keep a pup but wanted Ozzie lines to continue. I bred Rudy once and got Shelby who died after being in an accident coming home from a search in a snow storm on a 3 mile wilderness canyon road where she essentially broke her back. Each one of these dogs were pick of the litter and great choices for us.
